This series is inspired by the 7 deadly sins. The term cardinal sin dates back to at least the Ancient Greeks. The Church then described the 7 deadly sins in the 4th century. In the 6th century, they were codified into a list by Pope Gregory I. Since that time, they have been an inspiration to writers and artists alike.

De serie is geïnspireerd op de 7 hoofdzonden. Hoofdzonde is een term die in oorsprong minstens teruggaat tot de Oude Grieken. Geestelijken beschreven de 7 hoofdzonden vervolgens in de 4e eeuw. In de 6e eeuw werden ze als lijst opgesteld door paus Gregorius I. Sindsdien vormen de ze een inspiratie voor schrijvers en kunstenaars.
